【引用】不能小看的nothing短语

今天我们要学习几个同nothing这个词有关的习惯用语。Nothing基本意思是“没有任何东西、没有什么。” Nothing这个词汇本身具有否定的意思。
第一个习惯用语是: nothing to sneeze at。Sneeze这个词的意思是“打喷嚏”，既可用作名词，也可用作不及物动词。动词短语sneeze at意思是“看不上、嗤之以鼻”。Nothing to sneeze at是指“虽然算不上是最好的、但也相当不错的、不能被小看的事物”。与它意思相对的还有一个短语nothing to write home about，意为“无足挂齿”。
例句-1：So you didn't win the million dollars! But you did win 10,000, didn't you? Let me tell you, friend, 10,000 dollars is certainly nothing to sneeze at!
不错，你的确没有赢到那一百万美元。但是你赢了一万美元，是不是？朋友，听我说一句，一万美元绝对不是一笔小钱!
